Team PhotoOur team name is Free Range Robotics. We are a group of twenty homeschooled students who are enthusiastic about the fields of science, engineering and robotics. We believe that in working as a team we can achieve great results. We have spent the past 10 months in preparation for the 2010 national robotics competition held on March 26 - 28. 49 teams from all over NZ were participating.

The gripping final day of the three day competition is over, and the New Zealand Vex Robotics Championship was won by the Avondale College, Mount Albert Grammer School, and Home School team alliance!

It was an amazing accomplishment in a tough field, and it was great to see our team named Champions in the tournament battle, and also to take five other awards.

Winning the NZ Championship qualifies our team to compete in the Vex Robotics World Final Competition, held in USA, April 22 - May 24, 2010.
We will be sending a core team to Dallas for the World Finals. This team not only represents Home School, but we are also ambassadors and representatives of New Zealand, and all the teams who are part of the effort here.

We are now focusing on getting this team of talented students to the USA.
While we have some sponsorship we still need a Principle Sponsor. We have been fundraising over the year, and only need $35,000 more.
Sponsors names are featured on our Robot name, Team T-shirt and promotional materials, banners and graphics in our ‘pit' (our operational booth). Some sponsors also become involved in mentoring their team.

We are happy to meet with you and answer any questions you may have.
