16th February ScrimmageThere was some crazy tough competition today at the AURA dress up scrimmage. Finals were a battle between the Oats (2941A) and Jack (2915A) alliance, and the Oats (2941B) and Free Range (2921A) alliance. Oats A and Jack won overall, congrats to them!! And on behalf of my teammate on 2921A, thank you Seumas for the alliance!
Thank you also to 2919A K-Force who were my (2921B) alliance, it was great to work with you! Driver skills were incredible today, with some incredibly high scores from Oats (350 -> 360 pts) The dress up competition was a lot of fun, Free Range won with our Wizard of Oz theme, followed by the St. Cuthberts Despicable Me minions, and then Onehunga High School. Congrats to all the teams today, see you at Nationals in just a couple of weeks!! ~George |
9th February ScrimmageToday an informal scrimmage was held at Onehunga High School.
Both our A and B robots made it to the finals (in different alliances), and both alliances were very strong. Obviously being in the same team as 2921A I was aware of the challenges ahead as a member of the B team, but the alliance of him and 2918A was undeniably very strong. Thanks to Jack (2915A), my alliance, for picking me again, it's great to work with you, and this time we made up for our lack of luck at APAC in our alliance then (1st seeded alliance, knocked out in quarter-finals) Thanks also to all the volunteers, who made this informal event run so smoothly. See you all at the AURA dress up scrimmage next weekend!! ~George 26th January, 2013 Scrimmage2013 competitions in New Zealand have begun!! Today a great informal scrimmage was held at Glenfield College.
Many people were away (at Parachute, or just not back into robotics yet) so it was quite a small group of us (14 teams), but it was a lovely informal. In the eliminations, Oats (2941A, Otumoetai College) selected me (2921B, Free Range) as their alliance partner. Thank you Lucas!! We made it through to finals (against Oats B and D) and won overall. Thank you to Oats B and D, especially to Seumas (Oats B), who scored for us twice I think it was in autonomous. Thanks to the event organisers and Glenfield College for hosting this event! Also announced today was that there would be another scrimmage on the 9th February at Onehunga High School. See you there! ~George 2013 Online Challenges closing tomorrow!!Hey everyone!
