The VEX Robotics Competition is the largest and fastest growing middle and high school robotics program globally with more than 4,800 teams from 20 countries playing in over 300 tournaments worldwide. The VEX Robotics Design System offers students an exciting platform for learning about areas rich with career opportunities spanning science, technology, engineering and math.

This year's game is VEX Toss Up. Students aim to build robots able to collect and score different size balls in cylindrical goals, throw large balls between zones, and hang off a bar.

About Us

We are a group of homeschooled students in Auckland, New Zealand, who are enthusiastic about the fields of science, engineering and robotics. We believe that in working as a team we can achieve great results.

We have been competing in the VEX Robotics Competition since it first came to New Zealand in 2008. Each year we have qualified and been fortunate enough to travel to America to compete in the World Championships. In our first year, we were the World Programming Skills Champions, and then the following year we were World Tournament Champions. Back over here, we have been National Tournament Champions four times, National Design Award Champions twice, and we have also been National Excellence Award winners, the greatest award presented at a competition.

We work as a team to develop multiple robots and we believe this is the key to success.

About Our Website

Free Range Robotics' Website is built using Joomla - a dynamic content management system (CMS). This means we can easily add articles and photos etc; and use extensions such as event management, forums and galleries. Also, we can control access to the forum, certain team documents, and certain galleries. The goal of this site is a central place for our team resources, and a place where VEX teams from around the World can see what we're up to, check out some useful tips, and download some helpful documents.
